Team Role  - Mental Health

 


The
Mental Health Team co-ordinates and provides resources to support the South Island Regional Mental Health Network (SIRMHN) and specific District Health Boards to improve outcomes in Mental Health by:

  • Facilitating the development of a regional mental health plan including the provision of regional mental health services and funding direction for the region
     

  • Contributing to the preparation of District Health Boards' strategic and business planning and funding decisions with analysis of service data and other information as required
     

  • Facilitating regional tasks/projects from the regional mental health plan
     

  • Fostering collaborative approaches amongst District Health Boards to improve quality of service provision
     

  • Promoting increased integration and collaboration across the whole range of mental health services
     

  • Co-ordinating joint workforce development, recruitment and retention initiatives
     

  • Supporting specific District Health Board needs
     

  • Providing regional representation on national groups
     

  • Providing a contract management and provider relationship service when required 

The South Island Regional Mental Health Network

  • Meets 6 weekly via videoconference or face to face
     

  • It is convered by the South Island Shared Service Agency Limited Mental Health Team Leader – Faye Logan
     

  • Membership consists of a representative from each South Island District Health Board appointed by the respective Planning and Funding General Manager
